Stress Awareness and Coping Strategies
Stressed? You’re not alone!
Work-related stress, depression or anxiety accounted for an estimated 13.5 million lost working days in Britain in the last financial year. Over 30% of work-related ill health is linked to stress, with an average of 27.5 days sick leave per case.
Counting those patients who are not in employment, nearly 70% of all GP’s appointments deal with stress related illnesses such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and ulcers. Stress costs the UK economy a staggering £7 billion a year.
